West Jersey Youth Ballet

Dance attire can be purchased through our Nimbly store. We have a required uniform leotard for each of our ballet levels. For shoes, we recommend It's a Dance Thing in Flemington.

Ballet Classes 

Level Pre-Primary and Primary: Teal skirted leotard and convertible tights (both ordered through WJYB's Nimbly store). Canvas split-sole ballet shoes. Hair is to be secured neatly into a classical bun.

Level 1-5: Black uniform leotard and convertible tights (both ordered through WJYB's Nimbly store). Canvas split-sole ballet shoes. Hair is to be secured neatly into a classical bun.  

 

Jazz Classes 

Form-fitting workout wear; it is optional to wear a leotard. Leggings or workout joggers. Shorts are not permitted unless over leotard and tights. Jazz booties are required and can be purchased through WJYB’s Nimbly site. Hair is to be secured neatly away from the face. 

 

Modern Classes 

Form-fitting long leggings/joggers and shirts are required; it is optional to wear a leotard. Tights and shorts are not permitted. No shoes are required. Please be prepared with dance socks or something similar for each class; please no knee length socks or socks with grips on the bottom. Hair is to be neatly secured back from the face. 

 

Upside Down Classes

Leotard is required. Fitted shorts are permitted, but no skirts may be worn. Please avoid open back or strappy leotards (black uniform leotard is OK). Hair is to be neatly secured back from the face. No shoes or socks may be worn.

Dance With Me / Tiny Tumblers

Any comfortable clothing can be worn. No shoes are required; street shoes must be removed for class, including parents.
