Competitions
West Jersey Youth Ballet conservatory dancers have the opportunity to learn classical ballet variations and contemporary solos to participate in competitions and conventions throughout the year. We attend high-level ballet competitions, such as Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP), Universal Ballet Competition (UBC), National Ballet Competition, and The Connecticut Classic. We also attend several other high-level competitions and conventions, such as Adrenaline and New York City Dance Alliance (NYCDA) for other genres. Dancers may also compete group dancers, duets, and trios. We aim to choose educational competitions with master classes, which give dancers the opportunity to learn from well-renowned instructors in different styles.
Conservatory families will have the option to participate in all, some, or no competitions, depending on what is right for their individual family. For more information, please speak with Ms. Joanna or Ms. Elena.
Part-time students are invited to participate in group routines and may also attend conventions, and in some cases, Master Classes at competitions may be open to non-competing students.
